Savor la dolce vita - the sweet life- of Italy's legendary Lake District and discover the art, architecture, and history of a region whose splendid alpine setting has inspired creative minds from Virgil to Hemingway. Stay in the charming lakeside village of Cernobbio and explore the rich historical and cultural heritage of Lombardy and the Lake District through lectures and tours. Take a private cruise on Lake Como to Bellagio to see the stunning Villa Balbianello and then to Milan to marvel at Leonardo da Vinci's Last Supper. Special arrangements include a forum with local residents, a curator-led tour of the Silk Museum in Como, a visit to the Aldo Galli Academy of Fine Arts, and a performance of Aida at La Scala.
