History comes alive for the whole family on this voyage of discovery in the Mediterranean. The itinerary is designed to enlighten the senses and excite the imaginations of children or grandchildren, awakening their minds to the wonders of classical antiquity in Athens and the legendary Greek Islands and Turkey. Explore ancient and modern Athens before setting sail for fabled Troy and Ephesus, where children and adults alike will be awed by the ruins. Your family's adventure includes a journey to the fortified town of Rhodes; Santorini, with its legacy of volcanic erruptions; and Crete's Minoan Palace of Knossos. The adventure also includes journeys to Pompeii, the mysterious caves of Diros, and ancient Olympia, one of the first homes of the Panhellenic games. Experienced youth education counselors will lead groups of similarly aged children in the Young Explorers Program, a series of activities developed to enhance their appreciation of these ancient sites.
