From the architectural splendors of Edinburgh, known as "the Athens of the North," to the majestic peaks of the Highlands, Scotland is renowned for its natural beauty. Begin in the capital city, with its magnificent castle, picturesque neighborhoods, and fine museums. An excursion to the Borders countryside features specially arranged visits to important Scottish country houses. Later board the vintage, Edwardian-style Royal Scotsman, chartered exclusively for Yale alumni, for an unforgettable, luxurious journey through the countryside. As the train weaves past lochs and firths and along rugged stretches of coast, stop to view ancient castles and stroll through charming villages.
