During the autumn months, Canada's Maritime Provinces are ablaze with rich hues of orange, crimson, and yellow. This region, home to Native Americans and visited at first only by explorers and trappers, continues to impress visitors with its natural beauty. Citadels and churches bear witness to the settlers that shaped eastern Canada, while bustling cities offer gourmet restaurants and world-class shopping. In Toronto you embark on Clelia II and sail across Lake Ontario to enter the historic St. Lawrence Seaway, en route to Montreal and Quebec City, each with their strong French influences. From the Saguenay River and the Gaspé Peninsula, continue to the inviting shores of Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia. This remarkable passage culminates in the historic port of St. John's.
