Biography

Nik Khakee received his MPPM degree from Yale SOM in 1996 with a focus on finance and strategy. In his current role as a managing director and Ratings Criteria Subject Matter Expert for S&P Global, a financial services firm, he leads development of contingent risk analysis and emerging financial ecosystems. He has led development of analytic frameworks for structured finance, private equity, hedge, bond, and money market funds, as well as nonbank financial firms such as asset management platforms, finance companies, exchanges and clearinghouses. He once led a Yale SOM team for recruiting at S&P Global, participating in the hiring of over 60 graduates.

Khakee is a trustee for the Sanibel Captiva Conservation Foundation (SCCF), whose mission is to protect and care for Southwest Florida’s coastal ecosystems. Having previously served as board president of the Sanibel Sea School, he used lessons learned at Yale SOM to lead the merger of these two not-for-profits.

A passionate Yale alumnus, Khakee has served as a Chapter Leader for SOM alumni in New York City, as a class reunion and giving committee member, and as a YAA At-Large Delegate. He lives in Manhattan with his wife, an advertising professional. They recently became empty-nesters with the departure of their two sons for college.
