New Haven Foodtober - Yale Farm Visit Tour and Lunch

New Haven Foodtober - Yale Farm Visit Tour and Lunch
Sat, 10/03/2015 - 12:45pm - 3:00pm

Foodtober takes a field trip to New Haven, for an exclusive tour and lunch at the Yale Farm. Join us as we learn how the Yale Sustainable Food Project is helping educate food-literate leaders by creating opportunities for students to experience food, agriculture, and sustainability as integral parts of their education and everyday lives.  The YSFP manages farms on central campus and West Campus, runs diverse programs that support exploration and academic inquiry related to food and agriculture, and offers a host of professional experiences, fellowships and awards.

Jeremy Oldfield, the farm manager, will show us around the farm. Afterwards, we’ll enjoy a lite lunch with current YSFP students interested in food and agriculture. The YSFP students will be firing up the oven to serve the famous Yale Farm Pizza, and we’ll have free flowing wines from Corner 103 and Kobler Estate Wineries - two of Sonoma County’s finest wine producers.

For those traveling to New Haven by train, we’ll take the 10:34am express from Grand Central Station, and share rides from Union Station to the Farm.
