Professor Ayres received his BA from Yale in Russian Studies and Economics in 1981, his JD from Yale in 1986 and his PhD from MIT in Economics in 1988. He has taught at Illinois, Northwestern, Stanford, and Virginia Law Schools before coming home to Yale. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Arts and Sciences and has published over 100 articles and nine books. In 2006, his book Insincere Promises: The Law of Misrepresented Intent, co-authored by Greg Klass, won the Scribes Book Award for the best work of legal scholarship.
