Climate's Impact on Water

Climate Change Conversations is a climate-focused lecture series brought to you by Harvard Alumni Travels and Yale Alumni Academy featuring expert faculty and researchers in the field.

For many people, climate change is felt most directly through water. In some places, water scarcity is becoming commonplace while in others flooding threatens to destroy communities. The concerns go well beyond drought and flood. The webinar will explore the consequences of changed timing of precipitation and how it falls (as rain rather than snow). The questions we face could not be more critical: In times of drought, how will we allocate water between farms and cities? When the water runs out, how do we decide who gets to drink? And what technological and governance fixes are necessary to ensure sustainable access to water in the decades to come?
