We cordially invite you to experience a spectacular, ground-breaking theatrical event! As a first-of-its-kind masterpiece, Sleepless Moon seamlessly weaves the rich heritage of Cantonese Opera—its vocal artistry, stylized recitations, dramatic acting, and martial acrobatics—with the grandeur and passion of Italian Opera, modern drama, Chinese martial arts, and contemporary dance. Powered by an original score and majestic orchestral arrangements, the sweeping power and delicate layers of Western orchestration combine with the evocative textures of traditional Chinese instruments. Together, they construct a magnificent, soul-stirring musical realm that transcends tradition and redefines the boundaries of performance art.
A Stellar Creative Team of Visionaries:
* Eddie Tam (MPPM 93), legendary investor and cultural trailblazer, serving as Producer and Concept orchestrator;
* Ivy Tse, investment banker turned creative powerhouse, serving as Playwright and Producer;
* Lora Chow (YC), brilliant multi-hyphenate artist, serving as Composer and Music Director;
* Serena Tong, celebrated lyricist crafting the modern segments;
* Man Wah, acclaimed artist overseeing the ancient play write and lyrics.
Together, this dream team leverages cross-disciplinary innovation to transport audiences through time in an epic love story spanning a thousand years. Three years in the making, this visionary production bridges East and West to deliver an unforgettable theatrical landmark. Join us this October for the full, grand staged experience!
