Liu YLS '98 and Jonathan Kravis YLS '04 The Yale Club of Washington, D.C. invites all Yale alumni to a private virtual discussion featuring former U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jessie K. Liu YLS '98 and former Assistant U.S. Attorney Jonathan Kravis YLS '04. According to the Department of Justice itself, its mission is: "To enforce the law and defend the interests of the United States according to the law; to ensure public safety against threats foreign and domestic; to provide federal leadership in preventing and controlling crime; to seek just punishment for those guilty of unlawful behavior; and to ensure fair and impartial administration of justice for all Americans." In this follow-up to their program last fall on the rule of law, Jessie K. Liu YLS '98 and Jonathan Kravis YLS '04 discuss the opportunities and challenges for the Department as it seeks to fulfill this mission in 2021 and beyond. What changes, if any, should the Department make to its policies and procedures to further its duty to seek justice for all? How will the Department handle calls to investigate the activities of the Trump Administration? And what will be the impact on the Department of public opinion, politics, and the press? Please Note: This event will not be recorded, so we strongly encourage registering and attending. false

Approximately 3 hours before the start of the program, you will receive a link directly from Zoom with details about how to access and view it. Description Vincent Scully is a legend among architects. For 61 years, Scully delivered a Yale undergraduate course, History of Art 112a. The course became a cultural touchstone, grew to 500 students and created a generation of architects and clients. Those who were lucky enough to attend were inspired by Scully’s iconoclastic view of contemporary design and architecture’s central place in American culture. Scully offered the young people he taught, from 1947 to 2009, the built world as a tool for understanding our history and creating our future. This spring, the Chicago Architecture Center strives to connect with people in the same way. Yale alumnus and former Scully student Reed Kroloff, a nationally recognized commenter on architecture, will lead this fast-paced series with Chicago architects, Brad Lynch, Mark Sexton, Juliane Wolf and Carol Ross Barney. To register please visit: https://www.architecture.org/programs-events/detail/cac-live-vincent-scully-masterclass-series-see-like-an-architect/ The 2021 Vincent Scully Masterclass Series: See Like an Architect is generously sponsored by Ann and Richard Carr. Mr. Carr was a student of Vincent Scully, Yale class of 1961. false
