ReStore Chicago sells new and gently used furniture, appliances, cabinets, home accessories, building materials, and more. Proceeds from the ReStore provide funding to Habitat for Humanity Chicago to build homes, encourage homeownership, and help neighborhoods thrive. Our projects for the Yale Day of Service may include merchandise staging and arranging, warehouse organizing, cleaning, or donation assembly. Come prepared to assist with whatever tasks might be assigned to us for the day. Requirements: - Register for a Habitat for Humanity Chicago volunteer account and sign up for our shift at https://vhub.at/YaleHabitatChicago (must be completed 48 hours in advance). - Volunteers must be at least 14 years old. Anyone under 16 must have a chaperone, who is at least 21 years of age. - Please bring lunch and a water bottle and wear closed-toed sneakers or boots. We will be returning to "The Hub" to participate in a food gleaning and sorting activity. All volunteers must be registered directly with Nourishing Hope and follow the steps below to volunteer with our group. Ravenswood Ave., Chicago, IL 60640 Day & Time: Saturday, June 6, 2026, 11:30am-3pm Central Time Sort through donations of food and non-food items arriving at Nourishing Hope's food pantry warehouse. Check items for quality and box by item type. Help keep the warehouse clean and organized. Volunteers need to be able to stand for the majority of the shift and occasionally lift 15 lbs. Closed-toed shoes are required. Volunteers are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing - something that can get a little messy. PAWS Chicago 5K Walk/Run for their Lives with Yale Chicago! Saturday, August 29, 2026 7:30 am - 11 am Central Montrose Harbor - Grove 16 601 W. Montrose Drive, Chicago IL 60613 Join the Yale Chicago team as part of the ongoing 2026 Yale Day of Service on Saturday, August 29, 2026, as we again participate in the annual PAWS Chicago 5K Walk/Run For their Lives! This event raises money for pets in need of a home in Chicago. Register for the PAWS Chicago 5K Walk/Run for their Lives on the PAWS website - select "Join a Team" and then type "Yale Chicago" to join our team when you register here: https://donate.pawschicago.org/event/paws-chicago-5k-walk-run-for-their-lives-2026/e758292.
