Yale Day of Service: International, United Kingdom, London - East End Homes Community Gardening
Join Yale Blue Green for a morning of community gardening at the St George's Estate, for the annual Yale Day of Service.
On Saturday, 9 May from 10am, we'll meet at 61a Swedenborg Gardens at the St George's Estate community gardens. Our charity partner is East End Homes, who will guide us on the day. All levels of experience are welcome, whether you're a seasoned gardener or a complete beginner!
East End Homes' community garden is at the heart of the 'Food for Aldgate' project, a local initiative growing food and green spaces for the surrounding community. It's an opportunity to make a tangible difference to a local London neighbourhood while connecting with fellow alumni outdoors.
This event is open to all Yale alumni, friends, and family, including children (under the direct care of a parent or carer).
Paul Wilson, who runs the garden, also runs a weekly food relief project for local residents. He kindly asks that if you're able, to bring along a non-perishable food item to support his Friday food relief efforts — entirely optional, but much appreciated. Tinned chickpeas or tinned tomatoes are suggested, but any item is welcome.
For any questions, please reach out to Martin via the event page or by email! martin.man@aya.yale.edu
