The event is in partnership with the Whyld Foundation to secure funding and collect food and other resources to establish food/toiletry pantries in our schools, with the goal of ending food insecurity. They are looking for volunteers to help with set-up (starting at 4:00pm) and tear-down as well. They would also like a couple volunteers from Yale to speak to parents about the university at a booth.       Add to Calendar 2026-05-09T00:00:00 2026-05-09T00:00:00 America/New_York Yale Day of Service: NV, Carson City - NALC and FISH; Letter Carrier's Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive The NALC organizes the largest single day nationwide Food Drive in collaboration with local food banks. FISH is a local organization which runs a food bank, emergency and transitional housing, life skills and employment training, and medical visual and dental services to those in need. NALC and FISH are collaborating to organize this event in Carson City, and they need volunteers to organize and pack donations both at the post office and at FISH's location. They are looking for teams of 4-8 to volunteer in 2 hour blocks from 12-2, 2-4, and 4-6pm on May 9th. Option #1: Arrive at Toni's House at 8:30 am and sort donations and clean/tidy/prepare the backyard for a mother's day brunch. Event will end at 10:30. Option #2: Arrive at Toni's House at 7:30 am. Volunteers with sort donations, load a trailer, and head over the the City's Homeless Courtyard to participate in the Giving Project.
