Volunteers will help prepare for the Home Reimagined program, which transforms empty housing into fully furnished, dignified homes for individuals and families transitioning out of homelessness and poverty. From beds and sofas to kitchen essentials and décor, this program ensures families can walk into a space that truly feels like home. In addition, we may have opportunities to support other vital initiatives, including the Professional Development Center, which provides clothing, coaching, and career resources to help individuals secure employment and achieve long-term stability. Tasks may include packing and organizing household items, sorting donations, assembling basic home packages, and general warehouse support. No special skills are required — just a willingness to help. All ages are welcome, this is a family-friendly opportunity, and accessible volunteer options are available. Where: 4924 Wyaconda Rd, North Bethesda, MD 20852 When: 10:30am to 1:00pm EDT | May 9, 2026 (Saturday) Cost: Free - Come ready and willing to help out! Volunteer with Yale Blue Green at the Saturday Outdoor Food Pantry! Every Saturday So What Else provides free food to over 1,500 people in the parking lot in front of our warehouse with the help of our incredible volunteer team. Saturday volunteers will help with the following tasks: directing traffic, checking clients in, helping with line control, attending the food tables, bagging produce, giving surveys, breaking down boxes, disposing of trash, sweeping and more. AGE RESTRICTION: This is a great opportunity for children to join. A parent or guardian must accompany children aged 10-15. What:  Saturday morning yard work at Bliss Meadows with activities like planting seedlings in the meadow, adding mulch to the orchard, and resetting the front pollinator garden. Bring: Please wear appropriate clothing for yard work--Boots, pants, a long sleeve shirt, hat, gloves, and rain gear if bad weather is forecast.  Each volunteer should bring their own personal water bottle labeled with their name.
