Dear Friends,
In March, you heard from me about the YAA’s alumni engagement goals for the final year of the For Humanity campaign. These goals reflect the remarkable contributions of volunteers and staff in building and maintaining meaningful alumni communities worldwide. I’m excited to share, it’s time to celebrate: we met all the goals!
GOAL 1: Engage 16,000 unique alumni in volunteer roles throughout the campaign (FY26 year goal of 229 new volunteers)
- Success! Over the course of the campaign, 17,180 alumni volunteered in more than 37,000 roles across the university
GOAL 2: Engage 17,000 alumni for the first time through an event or program during the campaign (FY26 year goal of 1,238 new alumni)
- Success! 19,678 alumni attended their first event during the campaign, with more than 3,000 new attendees in FY26 alone
GOAL 3: Maintain 80%+ engagement of the BOLD cohort as measured by ACES
- Success! Currently, 82% of alumni who graduated in the past 10 years are engaged with Yale in some way
GOAL 4: Partner with alumni to host 600 events in last two years of campaign (are you getting our events newsletter?)
- Success! YAA staff hosted 785 events, many in partnership with our alumni volunteers
Strategic Planning Update
Continuing the theme of transparency, I am pleased to let you know that the YAA Strategic Plan will be launched in September. This plan will share our vision for the next five years and how we intend to align our work with the priorities we heard from you, Yale alumni. The plan will specifically address:
- Professional development and mentoring
- Lifelong learning
- Service
- Social connection
- Convening and promoting content throughout the university community
- Investment in virtual programming and events
I look forward to sharing more soon.
Best,
AC
