Twenty-five years after our graduation, what is Yale like now? What nationwide trends are shaping the generation currently coming of age? And what does this mean for kids and families looking ahead to higher education and beyond? In this two-part panel, we’ll explore the college experience from all angles. First, we’ll hear from classmates who work in academia -- including at our own alma mater -- about today’s students and college campuses. Then, a second panel will take the stage to focus on what teens, tweens, and their parents should keep in mind as they face the admissions process. If college is on the horizon for your kids, or you’re just generally interested in what campus life is like these days, you won’t want to miss it.

Panel 1: David Schwebel ’94, Associate Dean for Research, University of Alabama at Birmingham; Rebecca Kobrin ’94, Russell and Bettina Knapp Assistant Professor of American Jewish History at Columbia University; John Witt ’94, Allen H. Duffy Class of 1960 Professor of Law at Yale Law School, and Head of Davenport College; Cristina Cruz Gonzalez ‘94, Associate Professor of Art History, Oklahoma State University; Grace Ambrossi, Yale ‘20

Panel 2: Jeremiah Quinlan ’03, Dean of Admissions, Yale College; Rachel Stone ’94, Head of School, Canterbury School; Imani Perry ’94, Hughes-Rogers Professor of African American Studies, Princeton University; Mike Flanagan ’94, Chief Product Officer, Mastery Transcript Consortium; Julie Dobrow ’94, Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid, Columbia University School of the Arts

Moderator: Ryan Craig ‘94, author of “College Disrupted” and “A New U,” and Managing Director of University Ventures
