YaleFin connects Yale alumni in finance, banking and the investment markets. We engage peers, share ideas, and promote professional development and personal growth.
When was your group founded?
2018
Tell the "why" around your group—why were you created?
There was a conspicuous gap and need for a SIG for Yale alums in the finance, banking, and markets fields.
What is the purpose and impact of the group?
YaleFin is united as a group that hosts resonant events with prominent leaders in finance, provides Yalies an opportunity to network with others in and outside of their fields, and encourages mentoring of newer finance professionals.
Are there any key moments in the history of your group?
We had a huge turnout for our event with a favorite economist Robert Shiller, there was also great excitement for our YAA-award winning quantitative finance panel co-hosted with the Princeton Association of NYC, and we hosted a memorable panel on Socially Responsible investing alongside the Yale International Center for Finance and UBS.
What are your future aspirations for your group?
YaleFin aims to sponsor quarterly keystone events that draw a large community of NYC-area alums for shared participation and networking. We'll continue to broaden the group’s scope to other metro areas and augment our live events with periodic webinars of key interest. YaleFin is and continues to serve as a nexus for identifying finance field talent and volunteers for the University, YAA, and other SIGs. Growing our group members' career development and strengthening our members' relationship with Yale and the financial industry is what YaleFin is about!
