Dear Classmates,
As we, the class of 1991, approach our 30th reunion, (June 4&5) we reflect, reminisce, plan and build. Since our freshman year, we have known that our strength lies within one another, and the panels planned for reunion weekend reflect this strength, our collective intelligence and our dedication to excellence and empathy in all that we do.
Three panels will be showcased: racial equity, economic justice, and DEI; healthcare, public health and the coronavirus pandemic; and mid-career and mid-life transitions.
The racial equity, economic justice, and DEI panel features experts in the fields of economic equity and DEI to talk about current realities and how we can problem solve together to arrive at equitable solutions.
The healthcare, public health and the coronavirus pandemic panel features an infectious disease physician and other experts in the fields of healthcare and public health who can speak to how the pandemic has brought to light healthcare inequities. They can also elucidate the cross section between healthcare delivery and access and the tenets of public health and how that is defined through the lens of the coronavirus pandemic.
The mid-career and mid-life transitions panel will showcase classmates' journeys that have followed a more non-traditional path to provide navigation tips and inspiration to those contemplating taking similar leaps.
All in all, we hope to provide food for thought, as well as tangible solutions to issues that are posted across national headlines and discussed at our dinner tables with those that shared a common formative educational and cultural experience: our years at Yale.
