Meet new Alumni Schools Committee chair and member of the Yale Club of Alaska, Frank Eccher '19. Frank earned his BA in Environmental Studies and was in the Education Studies Multidisciplinary Academic Program (MAP). In the Education Studies program, Frank studied the efforts of highly selective U.S. colleges to more effectively reach students in rural education deserts. His interest in rural college access and higher education led him to work at Outer Coast, an up-and-coming two-year liberal arts college in Sitka, Alaska, which seeks to equip students with the tools and mindsets to effect virtuous change in their communities and in their own lives through academics, service and labor, and self-governance. In his free time, Frank writes, climbs mountains, fishes, and makes crossword puzzles.
