He is an Emmy voter and a member of the Television Academy.
Winston has created digital marketing campaigns and strategy while working at McKinsey, Fox Interactive Media, MySpace, and Sony Pictures Digital Entertainment. He has been a guest speaker at SXSW, CES, San Diego Comic-Con, Silicon Beach Fest, Cannes Film Fest, Social Media Week LA, NATPE, Entertainment Finance Forum, Digital Entertainment World, and Digital Hollywood. He is also founder of Ivy Entertainment, which creates collaborative events in the Los Angeles area.
Winston is a founder of the YAA shared interest group Yale in Hollywood, serving as its president for the past 15 years and spearheading three of its conferences that drew more than 350 attendees each. He founded the Los Angeles chapter of Yale Tech, another SIG, and has been involved with organizing several YAA Assemblies and the first Yale Entrepreneur Conference. He has spoken on best practices in social media at the Yale Social Media Summit in San Francisco and the Yale Leadership Summit in Dubai, and has served as a board member or officer at the Yale Clubs in Los Angeles, Boston and New York.
