BOG Elections

Each year in the spring, AYA Assembly delegates vote to elect six alumni from the delegate body to serve three-year terms on the AYA Board of Governors. All current delegates – those appointed to represent their constituency, at-large delegates, and those who serve as ex officio delegates (e.g., class secretaries, club presidents, G&P association presidents) – are eligible to be nominated.

Nominations for the current year are due by the deadline indicated above. Delegates with several years of experience in this or other volunteer roles are encouraged to self-nominate. (Typically, experienced delegates/volunteers are given primary consideration by the Board of Governors Nominating Committee.) To access a copy of the nomination form, please click here. Completed nomination forms should be returned to AYA via e-mail or by faxing to the number noted at the bottom of the nomination form.

Board members support the work of the AYA by direct involvement in and leadership of a number of committees and other Yale alumni-led volunteer organizations. Responsibilities include attending Board and committee meetings held four times a year (September, November in conjunction with the Assembly, February, and late April), typically in New Haven. Board committee work continues between meetings, by telephone, e-mail, and in-person meetings from time to time.

Nominations will be reviewed by the Board of Governors Nominating Committee, which is composed of sitting delegates. A slate of candidates will be developed from that pool. Current delegates who are interested in serving on the Nominating Committee may contact AYA.

For questions about Board service, the nomination process, or the election, please feel free to contact AYA.
