Students Today, Alumni Tomorrow

You are a student today, an alumna/us tomorrow, and a Yalie forever! We want you to know about the opportunities offered to you in all these roles. To make sure you enjoy a smooth transition from student to alumna/us, the Yale Alumni Association offers programs and opportunities to engage and connect with Yale.

Alumni-Student Mentoring

Sign up to choose an alumna or alumnus as your mentor! Talk with your mentor about your post-graduate plans, get insights on life after Yale, and benefit from her/his encouragement and advice!

The program encourages students and alumni to develop a reciprocal relationship and dialogue for at least six months, although some engagements last longer. A few times a year, students select from available Yale alumni mentors. Sign up here!

Yale Career Network

A program for online networking, the Yale Career Network (YCN) is a valuable resource for current students, providing access to approximately 15,000 to 20,000 alumni who can offer their support, guidance, and advice.

Managed by the Office of Career Strategy, YCN offers a database of alumni who want to network with fellow alumni and current students. Search the network to discuss career objectives and explore career interests. Once you are an alumna/us, you can start serving as a career resource to others!

Students and Alumni of Yale (STAY)

STAY is all about student-alumni relations! Partnering with on- and off-campus partners such as the Yale Alumni Association, Office of Development, Dwight Hall, the Office of Career Strategy –

and even other colleges – STAY hosts events and supports channels to unleash student-alumni time and talent, to transfer wisdom, and to form long-lasting, meaningful student-alumni relationships.  Learn more... [link to STAY]

Internships

Yale-coordinated, U.S.-based internships offer students full immersion in professional environments in a variety of fields, including the arts, politics, global health, STEM, community advocacy, “think tanks,” finance, journalism, and law. Students explore and pursue career goals while learning hard skills and industry-specific knowledge. In partnership with regional Yale clubs, some locations provide students housing for the duration of the experience and the opportunity to work with local alumni who serve as mentors and in-city support throughout their internship.

After Graduation

Your Yale story has only just begun!

For the next 10 years you get to be a part of BOLD, Bulldogs of the Last Decade, which will provide you with opportunities to connect and engage. For more information on resources, volunteer opportunities, awards, and more, check out the BOLD website.

Please also stay in touch with your fellow alumni and with Yale!

·        Update your contact information, so you never miss out on the latest events and other news. Watch for an email after graduation for instructions on accessing and using the online alumni directory.

·        Sign up for YaleMail! Shortly after commencement, we’ll invite you to create a branded alumni email account. (Your student account will be closed after one year; Yale ITS provides instructions on transferring your email archive to YaleMail or another account.)

Follow us on social media as well. Follow @YaleAlumni on Twitter and Instagram now, and after commencement you can also join the Yale Alumni closed Facebook group.

And to keep the fun going, be sure to attend a Feb Club event – or start one near you!
