BioTech Ventures & Innovation: The Startup, Funding & Ecosystem Model Driving Success

Colleen is a Partner on Canaan Partner’s healthcare investment team. She currently serves on the boards of Arrakis Therapeutics, Comet Therapeutics and the NEVCA (New England Venture Capital Association). She also serves as a board observer at RallyBio and Antiva Biosciences. Colleen helped to establish the Canaan-Yale Fellowship in 2015.  Previously, Colleen was an analytical chemist at PMRS, Inc. and a bioscience analyst for Entrepreneurship Lab NYC, an accelerator program for healthcare startups. Colleen holds a Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Physiology from Yale and a B.A. in Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania.

Jason is a Partner at Atlas Venture, focused on creating and building novel therapeutics companies. He is the chairman and was the founding CEO of Generation Bio (NASDAQ: GBIO), Dyne Therapeutics (NASDAQ: DYN), and Disarm Therapeutics. He is also on the boards of Replimune (NASDAQ: REPL), Gemini Therapeutics, and Accent Therapeutics.  He holds a B.A. from Yale and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Shelia is co-founder, Chief Scientific Officer and President of Research at Q32 Bio, Inc. She has more than 20 years of industry experience advancing programs from early research to clinical development. Prior to Q32 Bio, she was an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine, Section of Pulmonary, at the Yale School of Medicine. Previously, Shelia served  as Vice President of Research, Tissue Injury and Fibrosis, at Biogen and as Vice President of Research at Stromedix. She holds a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from Yale.

Anna is the Chief Legal Officer & Head of Corporate Strategy at Korro Bio, a next generation RNA therapeutics company that recently raised $91M in Series A funding. Anna was previously SVP & GC at Jounce Therapeutics (NASDAQ: JNCE), where she executed its initial public offering.  Prior to Jounce Therapeutics, she was at Five Prime Therapeutics (NASDAQ: FPRX) and Genentech. Anna holds a Ph.D. in Biophysical Chemistry from Yale, a J.D. from Vanderbilt University, and B.S. in Chemistry from Georgia Tech.
