Sara Nelson ’78

Throughout her career, Sara has consistently embraced new technologies and approaches to storytelling and has been a pioneer in the use of digital platforms and tools in the publishing industry. She has acquired both fiction and nonfiction, with a particular focus on historical fiction. Her authors include New York Times bestselling author Jenna Blum and historian Simon Winchester, and she has edited numerous successful titles, including the instant New York Times bestseller “The Tattooist of Auschwitz.”

Sara is currently an executive editor and Vice President at HarperCollins and has held leadership roles at numerous other respected publications and media companies, including Publishers Weekly, Oprah's O Magazine, and Amazon.com. She is also the author of the book “So Many Books, So Little Time,” a memoir about the nature of reading.
