Climate Change Conversations is a climate-focused lecture series brought to you by Harvard Alumni Travels and Yale Alumni Academy featuring expert faculty and researchers in the field.

Join Dr. Robert J. Klee as he explores the role of clean energy policy in confronting the climate crisis. Dr. Klee will take the audience on a tour of U.S. energy policy from the early days of fossil fuel discovery, through the New Deal, into the oil shocks and environmentalism of the 1970s, to the renewables revolution of today. Dr. Klee has a particular interest in the role of sub-national actors – regions, states, cities, and institutions -- in addressing climate change. He will present examples of how these sub-national actors have innovated in the clean energy policy space, deployed clean energy at scale, and reduced greenhouse gas emissions. He will discuss how these sub-national policy innovations may influence federal climate and clean energy policy. Dr. Klee will also explore the important role of financing and funding clean energy deployment in addressing climate change, and will introduce webinar participants to Yale’s Certificate Program in Financing and Deploying Clean Energy, sponsored by the Center for Business and Environment at Yale.
