Yale Alumni Educators (YAEd) is a tight-knit community of educators and students dedicated to unlocking potential, fostering critical thinking, and nurturing mutual responsibility. Join us for our second "Learning in the Age of Climate Change" webinar. This series provides insightful dialogues on climate education, equipping us to learn and teach effectively in a changing world.
In our next episode, "Empowering Learners and Educators in the Face of Climate Disasters," Maggie Favretti ’85 and Claudia Portogallo ’17 PhD (moderator) invite you to bring in your questions for building regenerative community projects locally. You will gain insights into Maggie's book, "Learning in the Age of Climate Disasters – Teacher and Student Empowerment Beyond Futurephobia." (scroll for free support materials). Discover how Maggie’s resources can invigorate your initiatives, fostering agency and resilience.
During the conversation, we will explore how to overcome feelings of immobilization, overwhelm, and uncertainty, instead enabling connection and impactful community action. Optional break-out rooms at the end of the webinar will facilitate brainstorming for local projects. Maggie’s and Claudia’s work includes collaborations with indigenous communities, climate disaster survivors, local regenerative learning centers, families, and educational institutions. Together, they proactively address climate challenges within their communities.
