Brian started the Herzog Cocktail School in 2012 to help people outside the hospitality industry enjoy the fruits of the cocktail renaissance through custom cocktail classes and events. His first book, Distilled Knowledge: The Science Behind Drinking’s Greatest Myths, Legends, and Unanswered Questions, was published by Abbeville Press in 2016; his second, a recipe book simply entitled Classic Cocktails, is due out this fall.

An alumnus of Ezra Stiles College, he is also the president of the Yale Club of Boston, and may well have done more research on the Yale Cocktail than anyone else in history. He is now offering remote cocktail classes — as well as publishing recipes and mixing tips, as always — at the Herzog Cocktail School
