Yale Blue Green: The Built Environment Series featuring Alan Organschi ’88 MArch and David Bergman ’78

Join Yale Blue Green, Yale's environmental alumni group, for this virtual program featuring Alan Organschi ’88 MArch and David Bergman ’78 on the myriad ways the built environment adversely affects the environment – from climate change to biodiversity loss – and what can be done to mitigate its impact. Moderating the session is Chip Spear ’74, board co-chair of Yale Blue Green.

Alan Organschi ’88 MArch

Alan Organschi '88 MArch is a senior faculty member at the Yale School of Architecture, where he has taught architectural design and building science for two decades, and directs the Yale Building Lab. He is a partner and principal at GOA, an architectural practice in New Haven recognized internationally for integrating building design, construction, and environmental research. In 2021, he was appointed Director of Global Labs at the Bauhaus Earth (Germany), an interdisciplinary initiative in regenerative building research and experimentation. He has been honored for his design practice with an Architecture Award by the American Academy of Arts and Letters.

David Bergman ’78

David Bergman ’78

David Bergman '78 is an architect, author and professor. He is the founder of DavidBergmanEco, author of Sustainable Design: A Critical Guide and the blog EcoOptimism.com. He previously founded Fire & Water, where he designed and produced energy-efficient and materials conscious light fixtures. Bergman is the Program Director for the New York School of Interior Design's Master of Professional Studies in Sustainable Interior Environments and an adjunct assistant professor at Parsons School of Design.
