Yale Blue Green Sustainability Webinar Series featuring Sten Vermund and Omolade Adunbi ’04 MA, ’10 PhD

Sten H. Vermund, MD, PhD, is an infectious disease epidemiologist and pediatrician — he is the immediate past dean and the Anna M.R. Lauder Professor of Public Health at the Yale School of Public Health. Previously he was director of the Vanderbilt Institute for Global Health. His work is focused on diseases of low and middle-income countries and his wide-ranging concerns include the direct and indirect effects of climate change on human health. 

Omolade Abunbi ’04 MA, ’10 PhD is a political and environmental anthropologist at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) — he is Professor of Afroamerican and African Studies, Professor of Law (courtesy), and Director of the African Studies Center. His research explores issues related to trans-national environmental and natural resource politics. He is the author of Oil Wealth and Insurgency in Nigeria and, most recently, Enclaves of Exception: Special Economic Zones and Extractive Practices in Nigeria.
