Gather’s Mobile Market is a program focused on helping break down barriers to food access by setting up a free farmer's market-style food distribution program in key community spaces. Volunteers' responsibilities include unloading food from Gather vehicle, tent sent up, food distribution, and clean up. This event takes place a day before the official Day of Service because Gather does not operate the market on Saturdays.
This is a judgement-free zone; Gather works hard to give folks a sense of shopping with dignity, hence our choice-model distributions.
- Expect to serve between 130-180 households throughout the entire day. This particular site is one where Gather sees a great need.
- Please arrive promptly by 9:00am to meet the Mobile Market team/Gather vehicles.
- This event is outdoors, rain or shine.
- Water is provided-but feel free to bring a reusable water bottle
Dress: Layers are always a good option as the temp can vary depending on how busy you are. Closed toe shoes are mandatory
