Join us for a webinar on how the Global Teaching Project’s Advanced STEM Access Program is transforming educational opportunity in rural Mississippi- and around the world.
Rural, impoverished communities often face a perfect storm: teacher shortages, limited resources, and talented students who never get the chance to pursue advanced academics. But change is happening.
The Global Teaching Project, founded and largely staffed by Yalies, provides promising high school students in rural, high-poverty Mississippi communities access to advanced STEM courses they need to achieve their full potential, but which their schools otherwise could not offer. Students in GTP's Advanced STEM Access Program are from some of the nation's most impoverished areas, yet have broken through barriers that typically limit advanced academic success. This year, numerous GTP students earned AP scores that placed them among the top 0.1% of all Mississippi high school students.
In this webinar, you'll discover:
- How the Global Teaching Project’s Advanced STEM Access Program identifies and supports talented students in under-resourced communities
- Strategies for addressing teacher shortages and resource limitations
- What's working in Mississippi—and what can be replicated elsewhere
Whether you're an educator, administrator, nonprofit leader, or advocate for educational equity, this conversation offers practical insights and real proof that opportunity can reach every student, regardless of zip code.
