Thank you to all the Yale and Y Tu Tambien (YTT) alumni for our annual Yale Day of Service college access panel on Sunday, June 9 at the Ripley Grier Studios in Manhattan. Over 70 students from schools in all five New York City boroughs attended. The Yale Latino Alumni Network and 1stGenYale hosted the program.
Ten Yale alumni panelists in diverse careers ranging from law, finance, education, medicine, and business enjoyed sharing their stories and answering questions, including "How to select a major?," "How does financial aid work?," "How do I balance what I want to study vs. what my parents want me to do?", "What makes a strong leader?," "How do I learn to network", "What do you need to do to be happy in a career?," and so much more. It was a rewarding experience for everyone who participated.
In addition, five matriculated Yale College students in the Class of 2028, numerous recent graduates, and other Yale and YTT alumni joined the networking discussion.
Juan Carlos Salinas '03 MFA, Lise Chapman '81 MBA, and 1stGenYale alumni created this YDOS program, with mentoring to follow. Thank you to all the YTT mentors for being the best family ever!
