Yale's Cross Campus networking and mentorship platform stands as a vital resource for students and alumni, fostering meaningful connections and professional growth. Andrey Sokolov ’27, is among many students who have benefited from this vibrant community. Majoring in Ethics, Politics, and Economics, Andrey has found his experience with Cross Campus to be transformative.

“The diversity of people I met through Cross Campus helped me narrow down my career interests to data science and public policy,” Andrey shared. “While the college application process was a starting point, the mentorship I received on Cross Campus truly defined my path.”

One of Andrey’s significant experiences on Cross Campus was his mentorship with Rachel Littman ’91, a former Executive Director of the Yale Alumni Nonprofit Alliance. Through Rachel’s guidance, Andrey secured a 10-week internship that provided invaluable exposure. “This opportunity not only provided hands-on experience in nonprofit operations but also equipped me with essential skills in platforms like Salesforce and Jotform. Learning from Rachel’s journey has been incredibly beneficial for my own career planning,” he recalled.

Cross Campus excels with its structured approach to mentorship, distinguishing it from other platforms. “Cross Campus’s well-designed system helps maintain a clear and anxiety-free connection with my mentor, unlike other platforms that leave you to navigate the relationship alone,” Andrey said. “It’s comforting to have a defined path that supports both mentors and mentees in scheduling and communication.”

The Cross Campus community has also strengthened Andrey’s connection to the Yale alumni network. “Cross Campus shows me the depth of Yale’s active and welcoming alumni network. Unlike my high school, where I regretted not engaging with our network early on, Yale’s alumni have embraced me warmly from the start.”

For alumni unsure about joining the Cross Campus mentorship program, Andrey offers heartfelt encouragement: “Your involvement does more than support Yale; it inspires and guides current students and alumni. Thanks to mentors like you, I feel deeply connected to the Yale community and look forward to becoming a mentor myself after graduation.”

Cross Campus is more than just a networking site; it’s a dynamic community fostering lifelong connections and personal development among more than 27,000 Yalies.
