The COVID-19 pandemic continues to cause uncertainty, particularly as it pertains to in-person gatherings and events. We miss being together with you to celebrate milestones big and small, and we sympathize with those deliberating over how to move forward on events for the coming months.

Please note that for YAA-funded or directly sponsored events, the YAA is following the guidance provided by the university and the university’s health and safety leaders. This university-maintained page regarding events, meetings, and gatherings is updated regularly and is the best place to go for all the latest as it pertains to university-sponsored in-person gatherings.

We recognize, of course, that the Yale community spans the globe, and that health and safety measures vary according to local requirements. We encourage alumni leaders to respect local guidelines and ordinances regarding gatherings – as well as those of any facilities where you may consider hosting events – acting in accordance with your comfort levels and the safety of yourselves and those around you. It is the responsibility of the volunteer organizers and participants to understand and comply with all applicable local requirements and guidance regarding COVID-19.

In the meantime, we at the YAA will continue to listen to our experts, plan accordingly, and hope for the best regarding opportunities to gather in person. We will also continue to invest time and effort in online programming that we hope you’ll find of import and interest. Please be safe and look out for one another.
