Photo of Allison SilverAllison Silver, founder and president of 4Context, runs opinion-writing boot-camps at universities and foundations, so experts armed with facts can influence the public debate. She has extensive experience as the top editor of leading news commentary sections: Executive Editor of Opinion at Reuters; Opinion Editor at Politico, Sunday “Opinion” Editor at The Los Angeles Times and Articles Editor at The New York Times Sunday “Review.” She now consults for NBC News THINK, where she commissions and edits opinion pieces. She was also Founding Editor of the pioneering webpaper, The Washington Independent. She taught journalism at Bard College and has lectured on opinion writing at Yale, Columbia, UCLA, Purdue, Los Alamos National Laboratory, New American Foundation and many other colleges and think tanks. She is the author of Lulu in Babylon, a novel set in Hollywood present and past, and co-author of 20th Century Travel (Taschen). She lives in New York City.
