Biography

Anna Barry is a biotech executive with more than 20 years of company-building and senior leadership experience in the life-sciences industry. She currently serves as a venture partner at Deerfield Management. Previously she was the chief operating officer at Korro Bio, senior vice president and general counsel at Jounce Therapeutics, senior director of intellectual property at Five Prime Therapeutics, senior patent counsel at Genentech, and an attorney at Heller Ehrman.

Barry served as a member (2013–16), vice-chair (2016–18) and chair (2018-20) of the Graduate School Alumni Association (GSAA) Board. As chair, she advocated for partnership with other Yale organizations to develop initiatives serving graduate students, such as the Three-Minute Thesis (3MT) competition. She has been co-chair of the annual “Where Do I Go from Yale” graduate-student career event; GSAA representative on the Wilbur Cross Medal Selection Committee; a panelist for the YAA’s Career, Life and Yale program; and an organizer for Biotech Trak, helping graduate students and post-docs explore biotech career opportunities in Boston.

Barry received her BS degree in Chemistry from the Georgia Institute of Technology, her MS and PhD degrees in Biophysical Chemistry from Yale, and a JD degree from Vanderbilt.
