Colonel Jeanne M. Meyer

Biography

Colonel Jeanne Meyer retired from the United States Air Force in 2019, after 25 years of service as a Judge Advocate. She served as a legal advisor at all levels of the Department of Defense, including Combatant Commands, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Air Staff, and in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. Col Meyer deployed three times, to Kuwait, Afghanistan, and Iraq. Based on experiences of military sexual trauma and combat exposure, she was diagnosed with complex PTSD and was recommended for medical retirement. One week after retirement, Col. Meyer began the Puppies Behind Bars Dog Tags training, meeting and falling in love with her service dog, Angel. They have been inseparable ever since.
