Biography

When Evangeline Tross arrived in New Haven, she knew she had found her people. As an undergraduate she worked in the Silliman dining hall, played field hockey, was a Yale bartender, a dean’s aide, a freshman counselor, and a volunteer in the office of a local New Haven attorney. Upon graduation from law school at Harvard she settled in New York City, and after working for several years at a large firm eventually landed in house at a major financial institution.

Since graduation, Tross has been a Class Agent, a member of the Board of Directors of the Yale Alumni Fund, and a member of the Governing Council of Yale Women. She has volunteered as an alumni interviewer for over 30 years and is currently president of the Yale Club of Central New Jersey. She has served on the Gift Committee for her 40th and 45th reunions, staying in frequent contact with classmates, and has organized and attended many Yale events. These experiences have deepened her appreciation for the value of the alumni community.

Now retired, Tross is enthusiastic about being a member of the YAA Board of Governors and welcomes the opportunity to collaborate with other alumni to serve and strengthen the community and preserve the legacy of Yale.
