Biography

As chief operating officer for Asia Pacific Equity Research at Goldman Sachs, Judy Tom is responsible for infrastructure management, junior talent acquisition and development, and client relationship strategy. Previously, she was the associate director of Asia Research at Sanford C. Bernstein and prior to that, head of Asia Pacific Corporate Access at Morgan Stanley.

At Yale, Tom was a FirstGen student and a member of the Women’s Varsity Volleyball team. After graduating with a double major in Economics and East Asian Studies, she became a management consultant with SIAR Bossard before earning her MBA at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, where she was an F.C. Austin Scholar.

Tom has served as president and vice president of the Yale Club of Hong Kong and has also represented the club as its YAA Delegate. She successfully captained Yale’s first Dragon Boat Team, in 1999, and served on the planning committee for Yale 300 in Asia, the university's official tercentennial celebration in Hong Kong, in 2001. She has volunteered as a site leader for the Yale Day of Service; is active with Careers, Life and Yale, through which she mentors Yale students; and continues to serve as an Alumni Schools Committee interviewer.
