Biography
Paul Leong received his M.D. from Yale School of Medicine, an experience that profoundly shaped both his professional path and personal values. The humane, intellectually curious approach to medicine that defines Yale had a lasting and deeply meaningful impact on him, instilling a sense of purpose, openness and respect for the individuality of every patient and colleague. That foundation has remained central to how he practices, leads, and engages with others throughout his career.
After Yale, Leong went on to complete residency training in Otolaryngology –Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh and fellowship training in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Oregon Health & Science University. He is now a facial plastic surgeon in private practice based in Pittsburgh. He currently serves as president of the Association of Yale Alumni in Medicine (AYAM), where he has worked to expand its reach and engagement across a broader and more global alumni community.
Leong’s leadership has focused on strengthening connections among alumni, students and the medical school through innovative programming, including a nationally recognized mentorship webinar series, as well as guiding organizational renewal and long-term strategic planning. Continuing to build relationships within the Yale community and to support both alumni and medical students has been one of the most meaningful aspects of his professional life. He looks forward to extending that same spirit of connection, mentorship and impact more widely across the university.
