Biography
Rohini Shah is a director of strategy in communications and marketing at NYU Langone Health. She has more than 23 years’ work experience encompassing a broad range of industries and functional roles, including management consulting roles at Kearney and Gemic. At the Clorox Company she focused on M&A strategies, brand and product innovation, and the enterprise-wide global relaunch of the organization’s DEI efforts in 2018. Her interests in social equity also parlayed into launching two social-enterprise startups, Bacche Inc. and Blu Salt, to build socially conscious brands in children’s clothing and in women’s carry accessories.
Born in India and raised in Singapore, Shah is a first-generation immigrant to the U.S., where she came to pursue a college education and went on to make a life for the past 29 years. Her perspectives as a woman of color and the ability to speak to issues unique to immigrants inform her interest in driving opportunity for others from non-privileged backgrounds. Since graduating from SOM in 2006 she has lived in a number of cities, and has been active in the Yale Clubs of Nevada, Pittsburgh and San Francisco. She recently completed a three-year term as a YAA At-Large Delegate.
Shah has served as an alumni interviewer for both Yale College and SOM over the years. Along with her volunteer work for Yale, she has also worked as a volunteer with the Chinmaya Mission of Pittsburgh and Chinmaya Mission San Jose. She also holds a PGD in Marketing and Finance from the Indian School of Business in Hyderabad and two bachelor’s degrees from Michigan State University in Economics and Advertising.
