Biography

Rohini Shah is currently pursuing an M.A. in Economics at Hunter College at CUNY. She has more than 24 years of professional experience, including management consulting roles at Kearney and Gemic. Most recently she worked as a Director of Strategy in communications and marketing at NYU Langone Health. At the Clorox Company she focused on M&A strategies, brand and product innovation, and the enterprise-wide global relaunch of the organization’s DEI efforts in 2018. Her interests in social equity also parlayed into launching two social-enterprise startups to build socially conscious brands in children’s clothing and in women’s carry accessories.

Born in India and raised in Singapore, Shah is a first-generation immigrant to the U.S., where she came to pursue a college education and went on to make a life for the past 30 years. Her perspectives, as an immigrant woman of color, underpin her interest in supporting others from varied backgrounds. Since graduating from SOM in 2006, she has lived in a number of cities and has been active in the Yale Clubs of Nevada, Pittsburgh and San Francisco. She completed a three-year term as a YAA At-Large Delegate in 2023, and was invited to join the Board of Governors as a member in 2024.

Shah has served as an alumni interviewer for both Yale College and SOM over the years. Along with her volunteer work for Yale, she has also worked as a volunteer with the Chinmaya Mission of Pittsburgh and Chinmaya Mission San Jose. She also holds a PGD in Marketing and Finance from the Indian School of Business in Hyderabad and two bachelor’s degrees from Michigan State University in Economics and Advertising.
