Volunteers will work on clearing and lining trails, removing buck-thorn and other invasive plant species, general planting etc.

      * All ages are welcome for this project, but it is requested that adults supervise younger children.
      * In terms of weather, we will work in a light drizzle but not if raining hard or storming.
*Volunteers should bring outdoor work gloves and a water bottle.

In 1988, neighbors joined together to save a large parcel of land from development on the north and east sides of Cedar Lake in Minneapolis. Seeking out and inviting all interested parties to participate, the group focused on a vision-to establish a nature park in the heart of the city-and adopted a set of organizational principles for Cedar Lake Park. The Park is open for all to enjoy and makes it possible to commune with nature in the City.

      Youth Guidelines:

For safety reasons, youth under the age of 16 are not allowed to volunteer on an active construction site.  We require one adult leader (21+) for every group of four 16-18 year olds volunteering onsite.

All high school aged groups, even if their volunteers are 18 years old, will need to have at least one adult (21+) for every four youth.

Please remember that these are active construction sites.  Safe work sites will ensure a fun and productive day!

      COVID-19 Prevention:

Following CDC guidance, vaccination and testing policies are not required but encouraged for volunteers joining us on site. To ensure the safety of everyone on site, we still encourage healthy practices such as staying home when sick, washing your hands regularly, and listening to healthcare experts as new information becomes available.

It is critical that volunteers do not volunteer if they are experiencing respiratory symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills or fatigue, regardless if you have been tested for COVID-19. Many times, with the best of intentions, volunteers show up even though they feel ill. Volunteers who report to the construction site or office ill will be sent home. Please read our full COVID-19 Safety Guidelines for more details.

Habitat for Humanity will be managing registrations. They have a detailed form and disclosures.

YAANW will be providing box lunches.
