      Come help prep and serve lunch to homeless women at Angeline’s Day Center, a program of the Seattle YWCA.  Angeline’s Day Center provides safety and support for women experiencing homelessness.  More than 200 women each day assess the drop in services, which in addition to meals, includes laundry, showers and connections to community services.

      This event is limited to 12 volunteers. Must be age 16 or older.

      Beacon Food Forest

      Add to Calendar 2024-06-08T11:45:00 2024-06-08T14:30:00 America/New_York Yale Day of Service: WA, Seattle – Mary's Place Lunch Service and Family Activity Join the Yale Seattle alumni group for an afternoon at Mary's Place in South Lake Union! Since 1999, Mary’s Place has helped thousands of women and families move out of homelessness into more stable situations. We will be helping with lunch service (two volunteers) and a family activity, such as games and coloring pages (up to eight volunteers). Dress comfortably and consider bringing a personal water bottle or snack. Please email Salina Hum (salina.hum@gmail.com) to sign up! Parking info will be sent to participants. Mary's Place also requests that all participants complete the following by Thursday, May 30th: 1. All participants will need to view the Volunteer Orientation Video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_82NkCHler0) and create a volunteer account here: https://www.marysplaceseattle.org/get-involved/volunteer/login. Email Gabriella (gmorin@marysplaceseattle.org) once this step is complete so she can submit a background check email to you. You will receive an email from Background Online to complete a background check, please submit the form asap as it may take a few days to clear.
