Yale Day of Service: VA, Richmond - Buttermilk Trail Restoration
In partnership with Friends of James River Parks, we will be removing invasive plants along the Buttermilk Trail to encourage native plant growth and native tree regeneration. We will be working off-trail on uneven terrain and slopes and occasionally around small streams.
Children 16 and over may participate if accompanied by an adult.
Work gloves will be provided or you may bring your own.
Dress for the weather, wear sturdy shoes, and bring water and a snack if needed. Sunscreen, hats, and bug spray are also recommended.
We will meet at the intersection of Riverside Dr and Southcliff Rd. From there we will walk to the worksite, approximately 10 minutes away.
Parking is available in the 42nd St lot or on Southcliff, being sure not to block any alleys, driveways, or walkways. Carpooling is encouraged, as we will be parking in a neighborhood. If you park in the lot, please allow time to walk and meet us at approximately 2005 Southcliff Rd.
