We are still in discussion with our contacts there, but we would be involved with helping care for a rain garden (rain gardens ensure that polluted road run-off during rainstorms won't end up in the ocean) OR helping to count horseshoe crabs. Preparation needs will depend on the specific project, but it will involve physical activity and will be open to all ages. Regardless of site, parking will be available. false

      Yale University Art Gallery
Add to Calendar 2024-05-11T10:00:00 2024-05-11T14:00:00 America/New_York Munch and Kirchner at the Yale Art Gallery with Yale Alumni College Join Yale Alumni College (YACOL) in New Haven, CT at the Yale University Art Gallery as we explore the prints of Edvard Munch alongside those of Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, expertly guided by Freyda Spira – the Robert L. Solley Curator of Prints and Drawings and Stephanie Wiles, the Henry J. Heinz II Director of the gallery. Munch and Kirchner exploited the emotional power of color and abstraction as they portrayed the harrowing, fragmented reality that accompanied the rise of the Nazi regime. While they both endured bouts of depression and struggled with substance abuse, their art demonstrated their radical visions of the modern world. Stefanie Wiles has arranged for the gallery to be opened early for this special visit, and we will continue our conversations with Freyda and Stephanie over lunch at Florian Atelier just down the street from the gallery. We have arranged a pre-fixed lunch menu at $20.00 per person payable individually at the restaurant. Yale University Art Gallery — 1111 Chapel Street false
