      No construction experience is needed, just a willingness to work hard and to learn!

      Please plan on showing up on time and staying for your entire shift. Split shifts are not allowed.
      Site will be enclosed, but please dress for the weather. 
      Sturdy, closed-toe, closed-heel shoes are a must; tennis shoes and work boots are great!
      Please bring refillable water bottles, we will have water on-site to keep you refreshed.
      You're welcome to bring your own gloves and/or tools, but all sites will have the supplies you will need. Make sure to label whatever you bring to site! 

      Sign up deadline is April 18. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Adult supervision is required for volunteers under 18 years old.

      American River Parkway Foundation

      Come beautify the American River Parkway and make Yale shine! The Yale Club of Sacramento is partnering with the American River Parkway Foundation to host a Yale Day of Service event on Saturday morning, May 3. We will be clearing trash and debris on the lower American River.  We look forward to giving back together.  

      In addition to registering here, we need you to sign up with ARPF (https://apps.arpf.org/volunteer-opportunities?VO=667) by May 2.
      Please arrive by 8:50am to sign in and receive a safety briefing. Volunteers will head out to clean by 9:10am.
      ARPF provides trash bags, gloves, water, and a light snack.


      Where to meet: Meet in the parking lot and together you will walk into the Parkway.

      What to wear: sturdy/comfortable closed-toe shoes, hat, long pants, long-sleeves, gloves, sunscreen, & bug spray.

      What to bring: Water! Take breaks & learn the signs of heat exhaustion.

      CANCELLATION POLICY:
      For the safety of our volunteers, ARPF volunteer events are subject to cancellation in the case of weather, flooding, and other natural causes. Cancellations will be posted on the ARPF calendar at least 24 hours before the event start time, and all registered volunteers will receive an email notification.

Kayaks and litter pickers will also be available for those who want to remove garbage on the water.
