Successful completion of the TSIC program results in a scholarship to attend college. Students in 6th through 9th grades are selected through a process that involves a written application and a 30-minute interview, among other criteria.  Our Yale Day of Service project for 2025 is to help the Hillsborough Education Foundation staff and other community volunteers conduct structured interviews with student applicants. After we arrive at Hillsborough Education Foundation, we will receive training in the interview process and scoring, and then spend the morning interviewing students. Yale Club of Tampa Bay volunteers are asked to dress in “business casual” attire, and snacks and refreshments will be provided. Here is the Hillsborough Education Foundation’s website if you are interested in learning more about the Take Stock in Children program: https://educationfoundation.com/resource/apply-for-our-take-stock-in-children-program/ Interested in participating?
