Randall’s Island Park Alliance is excited for the Yale Day of Service Alumni to partner for a volunteer project.
Please find some details for your event:
When: Saturday June 21st, from 10:00am to 1:00pm. Please arrive a few minutes early to sign in.
What to bring/wear: Dress depending on the weather, closed-toed shoes required, hat suggested, long pants suggested. Water will be available. Gloves, tools, hats and light snacks will be provided. Sun Block and Insect Repellent are also available.
We Supply: Water, Gloves, Tools, Instruction and Light Snacks.
Job: Native Habitat Restoration -- Help us improve our 20 acres of restored natural areas. These habitats comprise wetlands, forests, and meadows. The natural areas provide essential wildlife habitat in New York City as well as important ecosystem services such as cooling, carbon sequestration, and climate resiliency. Teams will work to remove invasive species that can degrade the habitat and plant native species to support human and animal communities.
Where: TBA in Randall's Island Park -- will be determined shortly.
Additional Info: All participants must sign a Waiver of Liability. Minors under 16 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Please inform us if any accommodation is needed. Volunteer events run rain or shine unless the weather conditions are severe. Restrooms are available. We do not have storage for your bags so please try not to bring too many personal valuables.
