Making Music Together
May 22
9:30PM – 10:30PM
One of the most wonderful ways to connect with your classmates during reunion is to intentionally create something together, and then share the results with your friends and family. So we’ve created a special event for our 30th called “Making Music Together,” which is being planned & produced by Melissa (Griforieff) Koomey (Whim ’90 Business Manager) and Kevin Mayes (Whiff ’90 Pitchpipe). The main event will be a live performance of incredible music of various styles by members of the class of ’90 on Friday night. But the process of creating & rehearsing while at the reunion will be just as amazing!
There are two ways to participate:
1 - Propose a musical piece you would like to perform with at least ONE other member of our class. We’re hoping that you’ll take some time to create something specifically for the reunion. Originals, mashups, new interpretations, unique arrangements… something SPECIAL to you and your collaborators.
2 - Sign up to be part of the Reunion Chorus, which will perform 2-3 songs specifically arranged for the event. There will be NO auditions for this! It’s open to anyone. But there will be a mandatory 90-minute rehearsal on Friday during the day. Sheet music and recordings of all parts will be provided well in advance of the reunion weekend so that you can prepare on your own.
Interested? Email us at yaleclassof90music@gmail.com if you have something you’d like to perform, and stay tuned for more details on how to sign up for the Reunion Chorus.
