Yale Class of 1959 - Register Now!
March 2019
Dear Classmates of the Yale Class of 1959,
Our 60th Reunion, scheduled for May 23-26 in New Haven, is fast approaching. Your reunion chairs, Randy and Lea Ney and Charlie and Eleanor Nolan, along with a team of engaged colleagues, have been hard at work, planning a stimulating and convivial event. Given the high quality of our past reunions, we understand that our classmates expect nothing less. The only remaining factor, we believe, in making this a memorable reunion is for every one of our classmates that is able to drive, bus, bike, fly, or hitchhike to New Haven – with spouses and partners of course – to “sign up and show up.”
With respect to the reunion fee, remember that widows of deceased classmates may attend free of cost, and should register by mail. Also, the fee for family members under 17 years of age is half the published fee.
As noted in the schedule, our Reunion weekend starts with a welcoming dinner Thursday evening at The Graduate Club, just up the street from our headquarters at Timothy Dwight College. Friday and Saturday are configured alike: sessions in the morning for all reunion classes featuring presentations by Yale faculty members; in the afternoons, programming for each reunion class separately. The afternoon programs organized for our class alone will be memorable, featuring, on Friday, Judge Guido Calabresi, former Yale Law School Dean and mentor and friend of a number of our classmates. Saturday will feature David Brooks, the author and New York Times columnist.
Incidentally, forget everything you remember about food at Yale. It has become outstanding! Over the weekend we will get a great sample of the variety of offerings that Yale students enjoy every day.
If returning to New Haven poses any financial difficulties, there is financial assistance available. Please contact Jennifer Julier at the Yale Alumni Association (jennifer.julier@yale.edu or 203-436-8014) for a confidential conversation.
As always, the heart and soul of our Yale reunions is the opportunity to renew the bonds of friendship with classmates and their families, friendships that now have endured for more than 60 years. Please register now and join us in New Haven May 23-26; we will all be enriched by a wonderful turnout.
