In this panel discussion, we will explore the challenges individuals encounter in accessing healthcare, including disparities and diagnosis mismanagement, and provide insights on effective advocacy strategies. The session will feature a compelling case study detailing a woman's journey through the complexities of a brain tumor diagnosis shedding light on the importance of empowerment and informed decision making in healthcare navigation. Additionally, this session will share a physicians' journey through advocating for those she loves.

Join the Yale Club of Switzerland for a free tour of the International Museum of the Reformation graciously offered and guided by the Museum’s director. Located next to the city’s cathedral, it is uniquely positioned as the only secular museum devoted to the history of both the Reformation and Protestantism. 

Whether you are new to Geneva or curious about its cultural specificities, this tour will provide you with an opportunity to revisit its major historical events and gain a deeper understanding of what has shaped people’s life experiences. 

We look forward to many of you joining us and rediscovering a part of local cultural identity as an illustration of how Reformation and Protestantism have evolved over the past centuries. 

 

We will be planting mangroves in the Condado Lagoon on the morning of Saturday, April 27th. Join Yalie Isiah Cruz ’17 and Climate Action in partnership with Estuario.org for the mangrove planting. The event is family friendly as long as children are accompanied by an adult. There is no minimum age. All tools will be provided. We just ask that people were closed toed shoes (boots recommended), bring sunscreen and bug spray, and wear clothes that they don’t mind getting dirty. • Parking: Free parking is not available for the event. We advise that people arrive early to allow time for parking. There is a mix of paid and free parking in the area pending availability.

o Ama Earth Group- Ama Earth Group, based in Puerto Rico, is at the forefront of ecological restoration, leveraging cutting-edge climate technology and deep-rooted indigenous practices to regenerate the Earth. The organization specializes in orchestrating hyper-local projects that bring together various community stakeholders, including individuals, businesses, and local groups, to collaboratively restore and protect natural ecosystems. o Estuario- Estuario is a non-profit organization focused on the conservation and rehabilitation of the San Juan Bay Estuary in Puerto Rico. Its activities are centered on enhancing the water quality of the estuary, promoting community engagement through educational programs, and fostering collaborative efforts among various stakeholders to restore and protect the estuary’s ecosystem. The organization is committed to improving the resilience of the local community and the estuary’s natural environment against environmental threats.

Assist with yard work for homes for adults with developmental disabilities. Tasks include raking the lawn, picking up sticks, flower planting, trimming growth and sweeping the deck/patio.

Children able to do yard work are welcome. Adult supervision requested. Wear closed-toed shoes and clothing that can get dirty.

Wingspan Life Resources is a non-profit organization that offers residential care in group homes and in-home programs to adults with developmental disabilities. The Wingspan Life Resources mission is to help individuals who are challenged by ability, health, or age, and to realize their own unique gifts, talents, and dreams. They fulfill this mission by providing individualized support services that promote personal choice, independence, dignity, and fellowship with the community.
